Post MM pve spec and rotatation ?'s
Hey I just got my hunter to 80 last night and I was curious as to what is a good rotation and spec. I have always played MM but I am not opposed to try something different. And also if you guys have a good PvP spec that would be greatly appreciated also. Thanks for the help!

My hunter is surv atm, and i'm well aware how MM is the best dps spec, but i've been told until you get fairly geared out, surv is the way to go. I could be wrong, and i haven't really played my hunter much since i xferred, but just what i did when i hit 80 on it. I also have the famous hunter macro, where all you have to do is spam 1 and it casts explosive shot, black arrow, serpent sting, two steady shots, kill shot, and then back to the rotation were i put an aimed shot in when its up. Pretty faceroll imo :P

Surv generally beats MM until you get an iLvL 226+ ranged weapon. At that point, Chimera scales with your weapon damage enough to allow MM to pull ahead.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I will definitely look into survival. What am I looking for in gear agi/stam/ap?

Agi until your gear gets better i believe, because you probably won't get arp capped with new lvl 80 gear

As Survival ArP isn't valued as highly as it is for Marks since the majority of your damage is magical (Explosive shot, Black Arrow, serpent sting). Agi is king even for Marks until you get into ICC-25 level gear. Pretty much just grab whatever you can (agi gems+enchants) and switch to Marks once you get a 226+ weapon.

My survival spec is pretty standard, Marks can vary a bit depending on how much hit you have (generally as Survival you can't spare points to get the +hit talent).

Both specs use priority rotations, nothing too fancy.
Surv: Kill Shot>Black Arrow>Explosive Shot>Serpent Sting>Aimed Shot>Steady Shot
Marks: Kill Shot>Chimera Shot>Aimed Shot>Steady Shot (serpent sting is refreshed by Chimera Shot)

http://femaledwarf.com is pretty good to help you gearing, its a browser version of Shandara's dps spreadsheet.
